A Piece of Immigration

People who leave their native land to come and settle in a new area or region within a country are called an immigrant. It could be considered as a new adventure for them. Varieties of cultures and languages to be known to whoever has the interest to learn.

In 1840-1880 four major groups of the Euro-African arrived and settled in a new land. They were consisted of the English, Spanish, French, African and Asians. They settled in the big cities, the rural area, and countryside of the northeastern United States and Middle West.

During the 1880-1930 a massive number of immigrants from the southern and eastern Europeans and Mexicans came to look for jobs opportunity at the industrial areas. They were looking for jobs in hope for a better future for themselves and their families. As time gradually moving forward, people learn there’s another way for them to achieve a greater future.

For the adults, some of them prefer to work or study while their children attend schools to earn a better education. With both education and job opportunities, more and more people are coming and settling in United States to improve their life and achieve a higher education. Even from 1965 to now, immigrants from all over the countries comes and creates a diversity of groups throughout the United States.
